Izzie’s End of the Year Program at School

Posted on 5:23 pm

Wow, time flies! Isabella is going to her school’s day camp (they call it cougar camp), twice a week, starting this week. Next month, she’s going to start Pre-K3!

We took her off school/day care for a month so we can concentrate on potty training. We’re happy to announce that she did great! She’s now potty trained! Just in time for camp!

Before I forget and get busy with work, I would like to share the video from her school’s End of the Year Program. The video was taken last month.  Isabella did great and made us really proud!

When Isabella turned two, instead of continuing her contract at a home day care near our house, we decided to enroll her part-time at the Early Education Program at a private Christian school (for privacy/security reasons, we are not going to mention it here).

Our decision came after we joined a small group and did a study on the book – Shepherding A Child’s Heart.  We concluded that our main goal for Isabella and Gabi is to raise them in the Christian faith and that they grow with a love for God and respect for others.

We know that enrolling them in a private Christian school does not guarantee the fulfillment of our main goal.  But we think that it will greatly help since the school will reinforce the beliefs that we have and that there will be prayer in school.  Our hope is that they will have a good start at the school and that they learn the important things we want them to learn during the first years of their developmental phase.  Isabella finished her first year at school knowing that there is God and about Christ (although she doesn’t know about His gift of salvation yet), knowing how to pray, knowing that its not good to say bad words, knowing some scriptures and just learning a lot of academic stuff (ABCs, colors, shapes, etc).

Proverbs 22:6 (NIV)

Start children off on the way they should go,  and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

Enrolling Isabella in private school was not easy.  Last year, Daddy worked as a teacher and I only work as a part-time web programmer/graphic designer.  So financially, it was tough!  Watching the video reminds me how God provided in different ways.  When we enrolled her, we questioned ourselves if we will be able to afford the tuition.  But it has been a year and Isabella was able to complete Early Ed.

Although, I wonder why I even question.  Since God’s faithful provision IS the story of our life! From being born in the Philippines..to finding my husband who lives on the other side of the globe…to being able to come to the best country in the world…to not having difficulty finding work here..to David being able to finish college without student loans…to him not finding difficulty finding work…to work medical benefits that allowed us to do IVF (and have our dream of having kids) and provide care for David’s health issues without any out of pocket costs..to David’s new work that will make it a little easier to enroll both Isabella and Gabi to the same school starting September…and the list goes on.

So enjoy watching the video!  It really holds more meaning to us than proud parents sharing a cute video :)

When Daddy’s Away..Izzie Comes Up With The Sweetest Things To Say

Posted on 12:31 am

David (Daddy) had to go to Korea last Saturday for business. Saturday was also Isabella’s cousin’s Birthday! We all went to Storybook Land to celebrate Eva’s birthday. Daddy had to leave early so he was not able to come with us.  I have Isabella’s younger sister Gabi in a front carrier most of the day so I can still attend to Isabella while we’re at the park.  Gabi is only 6 months and she loved that i had her in my carrier facing out.

We had a great time with the cousins!  After the park, Isabella, Gabi and I were able to nap for a little bit.  We ate dinner and I gave the kids a bath.  After a long day, I tucked Isabella to bed and laid next to her.  That’s when I felt that my back was aching really bad :) I looked at Isabella and asked “Did you have fun with your cousins? It was a long day huh?”

Isabella said that she had fun and she mentioned all the cool rides that she took and the characters she saw. Then I told her that I was glad she had fun. But I was thinking “Wow!  I need a long rest! And its the first night that David is gone! And he will be gone for FIVE DAYS!!!! Oh no! I don’t think I’ll survive!”

But just as I was about to close my eyes, I hear Isabella say “Guess what Mom!?”

I asked “What?” hoping that she won’t ask me to go downstairs to get crackers or a drink.  Isabella said the sweetest thing she has ever said!  She said “You’re the best mommy EVER!” I was pleasantly surprised :) Close to tearing up, I hugged her and said “That is sooo sweet of you honey!”  Then she added, “And I have the best Daddy ever!  And the best Gabi ever!”

It was soooo sweet!  All the back pains, all the stress from running after her at the park and all the doubts that I’ll make it through five days (alone with the kids) went away!  It was just sooo sweet!

Isabella and Gabi were good the whole time David was away.  There were stressful moments, but when I think of what Isabella said the first night, I smile and it makes everything better!

I am writing about it in this blog..so in case she reads this 10 years from now. She’ll see how a simple but sweet sentence can affect someone. And people say that girls tend to dislike their mothers at one point. So I guess this is also a proof that she told me that I am the greatest mom ever :)

David was supposed to come home today. We were all looking forward to it because we miss him so much!  But his flight home was cancelled because of thunderstorms.  But before we found out it was cancelled, we made a banner for Daddy.  Isabella decorated the banner!  It was sweet but we were sad a little bit cos he won’t see the banner.  And we used all the helium we have in the house (yup! we sometimes keep a small tank of helium just in case we want to blow up balloons :) jk its the leftover tank from Isabella’s third birthday party).

Enjoy the video! I guess we can go to the dollar store tomorrow to get balloons.

Last January, Isabella found a video on YouTube. It was the Kracie Popin Cookin video posted by QueenieITO!  She watched it every day for a couple of months. And begged us to get it for her. Check out her Kracie Popin Cookin Video below. This is for the Gummy Candy Making Kit.

We found a website based in Japan that sells them! But the order comes in after 3-4 weeks, so now we buy them in bulk. Welcome To My Website!

Posted on 6:34 pm

First, I would like to let you know that this is my first attempt at blogging.  When the idea of doing a an online video journal for Isabella came to mind, I thought it will be easy :)   All I have to do is upload videos! But while I was trying to create my first post on this WordPress site, it hit me! What am I doing? I cant just upload videos without some sort of introduction or explanation on what the video is about!  Family and friends that visit the site won’t even know what the videos are!  They might not get it!  Isabella might not get it when she reads this blog 12 years from now!

So here I am..writing an introduction of some sort.  I would like to make a disclaimer though :) I am not a writer and English is not my first language.  So please excuse me if there are grammatical errors here and there.  Good thing WordPress has spell check or I would have a lot of errors on that area as well.

I also dont know where to start.  I told myself to just write whatever comes to mind.  And guess what? We’re on the third paragraph! I know i would come back and delete a few sentences/words after I’m done.  But I am glad on making some progress.

Anyways..let me introduce this first video post!  This video was taken a couple of weeks ago.  I want to test if Isabella would be open to me videotaping her and if she would follow directions. All I ask her to say is “Welcome to my website” and got a little more and some funny stuff with it.  Enjoy!

Reason Behind IzzieTalk.com

Posted on 4:31 pm

We want to create an online video journal for our eldest daughter Isabella.  To document different things and activities that she’s interested in and different milestones in her life. So she can look back when she’s a lot older and see her videos.

Isabella turned three last month and she’s just so much fun to be with. She’s such a blessing and she gives us great joy. She says a lot of sweet and funny stuff – the reason why i called this blog “Izzie Talk.” She sometimes come up with her own words and tells you the meaning of it. And she doesn’t like it when you say curse words or not so nice words like S-T-U-P-I-D or “oh my G__”- when she hears those words, she will make sure to that you know its bad and will correct you.

She also finds different toys and activities that she obsesses about. Some she finds online on her own while watching cartoons on YouTube. Some she sees on infomercial or from friends and other people.

Our hope is that someday..maybe when she’s twelve or older, she’ll go on this website and see the different activities that she loved and shared with her parents. She’ll also read about the different times when she has touched our lives or made us laugh.

We love you Isabella! And we are so happy that God gave us you :)
